An initiative of two Canadian records management pioneers and legends, William J. Gray and Denis Deslongchamps, ARMA Montreal was founded on December 16th, 1968, becoming not only the first Canadian chapter but also the first one outside of the United States.

With over 50 years of continuous operations, ARMA Montreal hosted tree Canadian Region annual conferences, in 1982, 1993 and 2019, and the ARMA International Annual Conference and Expo in 2001.
Taking full advantages of its bilingual status, the Montreal chapter always played an important part in the French translation efforts of the Association, from lexicons to brochures.
ARMA Montreal is also proud to be the Twin Chapter of Vancouver and the Sister Chapter of Greater New Orleans.
